Lime scooters recalled for danger of breaking apart

On Behalf of | Nov 15, 2018 | Products Liability |

Electric scooters are becoming more and more popular in Miami and in other cities around Florida. The scooters are a fun way to get around town in a quicker way than walking. But, one brand of rental electric scooters have been recalled because of the risk of falling apart which is making it a products liability risk.

Lime scooters, one of the companies operating in area, has issued a recall for an unspecified amount of scooters because of the risk of them breaking apart. The scooters made by Okai have the possibility of the baseboard cracking or breaking when they are ridden over a curb. Lime has said they will replace the scooters, with newer and more advanced models. Lime has faced criticism in the past about how quickly they respond to safety concerns.

When a person spends the money to rent an electric scooter, they assume the scooter they rent will be safe. Unfortunately, it appears that many scooters are in ill-repair and can be a risk for those who are riding them. When a person is injured by a faulty product, they may want to speak with a legal professional who is skilled in personal injury. An attorney can review the circumstances surrounding the injury and advise their client on their next steps. An attorney is committed to removing dangerous products and help keep people safer. Compensation may be available for their client for medical expenses, pain and suffering, lost wages and other damages.

When a person uses a product, they assume it will not injure them. Unfortunately, some products are just dangerous and, in these cases, it is important to hold manufacturers accountable for their negligence.
