Bicyclist killed by hit-and-run driver in Coconut Grove

Many people in the Miami area enjoy riding their bicycle. The Miami climate allows for year-round biking, and it is a great way to get exercise and to get to many places. Usually, bicyclists can share the road with cars safely, but sometimes, a serious accident occurs. A Miami Dade College professor who was biking to work was hit and killed by a driver recently. The bicyclist was riding along Douglas Road near Charles Terrace in Coconut Grove when he was hit.

Witnesses to the tragic accident say the driver of the car that struck the bicyclist pulled over after the accident. He was talking on his cellphone for a few minutes and then drove away in a newer-model Jaguar. Police are investigating the fatal accident and are asking the public for any information that could lead to the driver.
