Motorcyclist dies after being hit by another vehicle

On Behalf of | Sep 1, 2017 | Wrongful Death |

There are many motorcycles on the roads in Florida. They can be a fun mode of transportation, but there are also dangers inherent in riding them that other motor vehicles do not experience. One is that if they are struck by other vehicles or they spin out, they do not have much protection from the concrete and other elements. Also, they are much smaller than most other vehicles and other drivers may not see them when they make turns or change lanes.

The results of these accidents are usually very devastating for the motorcyclist. Sometimes the motorcyclist even dies. Unfortunately a woman who was recently out riding her motorcycle with her husband died in a fatal accident.

They were travelling on a road when an elderly man pulled out of a Walmart and crossed the road striking the motorcycles. The driver of the vehicle continued driving away though. Luckily witnesses who saw the accident called the police and followed the driver informing the police of where he was located. The police then stopped the driver and he was charged with multiple offenses.

The driver, in addition to receiving the citations, may also be required to compensate the victim’s family for their loss. Losing a loved one is never easy and there will always be a void left by their passing. However, while the compensation will not bring the victim back, it can at least ease the financial loss of the family.

There are many fatal accidents in Florida each year. These are extremely devastating for the family and it is not always easy to move on. The family may also be put in a difficult financial position, especially if the victim earned a primary income for the family. They may be entitled to compensation for their loss though. Experienced attorneys understand how devastating these accidents can be and may be able to guide one through it.
