How Florida's troopers try to prevent truck accidents

Truck drivers in Florida must abide by the commercial vehicle regulations created by the state and federal government in order to prevent truck accidents. Florida does require vehicles coming into the state and traveling around the state to go through a safety inspection. Troopers stop commercial vehicles and perform a review for violations and safety defects in accordance with the Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance.

How long can a passenger-carrying vehicle operate in Florida?

Getting hit by a truck in Florida is no simple accident. The size of a truck can result in you suffering severe injuries and your vehicle sustaining incredible damage. Following your accident, you need to discuss a few things about the crash. For instance, did you see the driver fall asleep at the wheel? Was the driver on the road when he or she shouldn't have been? These are important questions that need to be answered.

Medical requirements for truck drivers need to be met in Florida

If you've been in a truck accident with someone who shouldn't have been behind the wheel due to medical reasons, you may wonder if there were any checks in place to make sure drivers like the one in your accident were kept off the roads in Florida. The United States Department of Transportation does have medical requirements that all commercial drivers need to abide by. These requirements help keep those who can't see or hear well enough off the roads; they also keep those with severe medical conditions off the roads to prevent accidents.

Commercial truck drivers may cause accidents by not being trained well enough in their driving techniques or not being knowledgeable about safety concerns. Commercial drivers should be driving defensively, and passive driving may result in crashes.

Trucking accidents may be due to sleep deprivation

Trucking regulations have come into the spotlight in the last few days with the injury of Tracy Morgan and the death of his friend, also a comedian. There are safety rules in place in Florida and the United States at the federal level to help prevent this kind of accident from happening. If you've ever been in a crash with a semi-truck, you might have found yourself asking the same questions as people in this case. Was the driver too tired to be driving?
