Lacy Brinson, from Live Oak, Florida, practices in our Jacksonville satellite office. Lacy has extensive experience in all aspects of immigration law, including federal court litigation. Lacy received her Juris Doctor with a Certificate in International and Comparative Law from Florida Coastal School of Law in 2007, and she graduated Summa Cum Laude with her Bachelor of Arts in Spanish with a Minor in English from Florida State University in 2004.
At Florida Coastal, Lacy graduated with Pro Bono Honors in the top 25% of her class and was very active in both the Moot Court and Mock Trial Programs. As the lead brief writer for the Jessup International Moot Court Competition in 2007, Lacy led her moot court team to place among the top 10 teams in the world. The year before, she had helped her team reach the top 25 in the world in the same competition. Lacy also served for two years as an officer in the International Law Society (ILS) and the Hispanic American Law Student Association (HALSA) at Florida Coastal.
Lacy graduated from Florida Coastal with the International and Comparative Law Certificate, which she earned through completing coursework in classes such as International Law, Immigration Law, Anti-Terrorism and National Security Law, International Protection of Human Rights, and Latin American Comparative Law. At Florida Coastal, Lacy received the book award in her legal writing class, and was listed as a Dean's Scholar. In her Trial Advocacy class, Lacy was awarded Best Overall Advocate, Best Opening Statement, Best Direct Examination, and Best Cross-Examination.
Lacy has also studied abroad in both Buenos Aires, Argentina, and San Jose, Costa Rica, and has achieved a near-native fluency in the Spanish language. While a student at Florida State University, Lacy was inducted into the Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society and the Phi Eta Sigma Honor Society.
